Designing a Better Way to Throw Things Away...
Most people don’t think twice about what happens after they toss something in the trash.
And most of the systems behind that? They weren’t built with trashmen in mind.
That’s why we started Plutou.
We’ve worked alongside haulers, nonprofits, and donation organizations.
We’ve seen the workarounds. The duct-taped spreadsheets.
The “just get shit done” hustle that keeps the industry moving despite the tools – not because of them.
At Plutou, we’re doing it differently.
We believe quality matters.
We believe tools should be both powerful and humane.
We believe every recycled item deserves a system as thoughtful as the world it’s in.
We’ve taken our time.
We’ve been quiet.
Why?
Because quality takes time.
Because building something real, something that works, makes life easier, and feels good to use, requires patience, obsession, and ruthless focus.
This is just the beginning.
Today…
We're focused on supporting donation logistics, like textiles and books,
and improving public collection systems across cities and campuses.
These are where the need is most urgent, and where thoughtful tools can make an immediate impact.
But our bigger goal?
Reinvent how we all interact with waste.
Across communities, industries, and individuals.
We’re not here to build just another piece of software.
We’re here to build the Linear, the Tesla, the Apple of this industry.
And yes, we know that’s bold.
That’s the point.
The world deserves better tools to throw things away.
We’re here to build them.
